• Deforestation (less photosynthesis organisms) - Less oxygen is released into the atmosphere - Less carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere

• Increased combustion of fuels - More oxygen is removed from the atmosphere - More carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere

• Net result - Oxygen level in atmosphere decreases - Carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere increases
